Job Description:

The intern will perform assigned duties under the direction of an experienced professional, and will work in a learning environment and gain knowledge and experience that will augment his/her college education.
  • Paid, hourly, full-time, 40 hours week
  • Must complete pre-employment background check process

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Junior or senior standing, currently enrolled at an accredited college or university
  • GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above
  • Pursuing bachelor’s degree in the primary functional area of the department
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to identify and solve problems
  • Strong computer proficiencies in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access with the ability to efficiently learn new technologies
  • Knowledge of Visio, Flash, Lectora, SoftSim, and Photoshop is a plus
  • Excellent customer service acumen
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Previous work experience is a plus

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the department intern manager you will perform a variety of responsibilities in the Training and Development Department that will include, but are not limited to: participating in curriculum review, research for and development of departmental Instructional Design standards manual, training needs assessments, and subject matter expert interviews. While practicing Instructional Design skills, the intern will may also assist with the following activities: creation of design documents that specify learning objectives, measures of student learning, learning materials design specifications, and learning impact (e.g. business results); creation of storyboards, scripts, and course content (including simulations and blended solutions); design and development of content using a variety of delivery formats; design of courses using interactive, online learning models; and implementing adult learning principles to deliver training in an effective manner.

Educational requirement: pursuing a major in Human Resources or Organizational Development
