Job Description:
The intern will perform assigned duties under the direction of experienced personnel. Follett provides a learning environment, and the intern will gain knowledge and experience that will augment his/her college education.- Paid, hourly, full-time, 40 hours week
- Must complete pre-employment background check process
Minimum Qualifications:
- Junior, senior or graduate student standing, currently enrolled at an accredited college or university
- Pursuing bachelor’s degree in Communication or closely related field of study
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to identify and solve problems
- Strong proficiencies in intranet research, HTML coding, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, with the ability to efficiently learn new technologies
- Excellent customer service acumen
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Previous work experience is a plus
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the department intern manager, you will perform a variety of responsibilities that will include, but are not limited to: assisting with file management on Follett Higher Education Group’s intranet site, The Quad and partnering with Follett associates to identify and remove outdated content from this site, which may also require updating current pages or creating new ones. You will also create a reference guide to help end users locate content on the intranet site. Other daily tasks may include assisting with the development and distribution of internal email messages and writing associate news articles.Educational requirement: pursuing a major in Communications or closely related field
