Job Description:

The intern will perform assigned duties under the direction of experienced personnel. Follett provides a learning environment, and the intern will gain knowledge and experience that will augment his/her college education.
  • Paid, hourly, full-time, 40 hours week
  • Must complete pre-employment background check process

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Junior or senior standing, currently enrolled at an accredited college or university
  • GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above
  • Pursuing bachelor's degree in the primary functional area of the department
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to identify and solve problems
  • Strong computer proficiencies in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, with the ability to efficiently learn new technologies
  • Excellent customer service acumen
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Previous work experience is a plus

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the department intern manager you will perform a variety of responsibilities in the accounting organization (general accounting, accounts receivable, cash, inventory and wholesale) that will include, but are not limited to: assisting in the completion of department strategic projects; assist in the preparation of monthly journal entries; perform reconciliation of bank accounts and proofreading documents. Participate in the monthly accounting close process; communicate business issues to field operations; other accounting/analysis related projects as assigned.

Educational requirement: pursuing a major in Accounting or Finance
