Home Office Internship Program/IT – Retail Systems Standards and Implementation (Product Support)

Job Description:

The intern will perform assigned duties under the direction of an experienced professional, and will work in a learning environment and gain knowledge and experience that will augment his/her college education.
  • Paid, hourly, full-time, 40 hours week
  • Temporary housing assistance may be available on a limited basis

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Junior or senior standing, currently enrolled at an accredited college or university
  • GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above
  • Pursuing bachelor's degree in the primary functional area of the department
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to identify and solve problems
  • Strong computer proficiencies in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power point, with the ability to efficiently learn new technologies
  • Knowledge of Windows XP operating system, computer systems and/or hardware, and network connectivity, via telephone modem, Ethernet, or other technologies
  • Experience with Windows networking and Server 2003 a plus
  • Excellent customer service acumen
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Previous work experience is a plus

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the department intern manager you will perform a variety of responsibilities in Information Technology’s Retail Systems Standards and Implementation organization that will include, but are not limited to: logging calls received via phone, email, or in person in the call management software (Touchpaper), resolving software/hardware issues, providing information that can be used to eliminate recurring problems, ensuring the escalation of issues to appropriate groups, and assisting in new store implementations. Ad hoc projects may be assigned.

Educational requirement: pursuing a major in Computer Science
