Job Description:

The intern will perform assigned duties under the direction of an experienced professional, and will work in a learning environment and gain knowledge and experience that will augment his/her college education.
  • Paid, hourly, full-time, 40 hours week
  • Temporary housing assistance may be available on a limited basis

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Senior standing, currently enrolled at an accredited college or university
  • GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above
  • Pursuing bachelor's degree in the primary functional area of the department
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to identify and solve problems
  • Strong computer proficiencies in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, VB.NET, MS SQL, and Microsoft Visual SourceSafe with the ability to efficiently learn new technologies
  • Excellent customer service acumen
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Previous work experience is a plus

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the department intern manager and mentor you will perform a variety of responsibilities in the Wholesale Distribution organization that will include, but are not limited to: writing programs following department standards using the provided specifications, completing unit tests to insure design functionality, and turning over a completed program to mentor for system testing. Will work with mentor on system testing and resolution of any problems with developed programs as well as writing and maintaining documentation of changes to programs. Other ad hoc projects that will support the system needs of the Wholesale Distribution business area as assigned.

Educational requirement: pursuing a major in Computer Science; emphasis in Software Development preferred
