Summer Internship /Enterprise Information Technology (EIT)
May 19 – July 25, 2008 (10 week program)
Job Description:
The intern will perform assigned duties under the direction of an experienced professional, and will work in a learning environment and gain knowledge and experience that will augment his/her college education.- Paid, hourly, full-time, 40 hours week
- Temporary housing assistance may be available on a limited basis
Minimum Qualifications:
- Junior or Senior standing, currently enrolled at an accredited college or university
- GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above
- Pursuing bachelor's degree in the primary functional area of the department
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to identify and solve problems
- Strong computer proficiencies in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, with the ability to efficiently learn new technologies
- Experience with web development tools (e.g. PHP) is helpful
- Excellent customer service acumen
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Previous work experience is a plus
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the department intern manager, the intern will be assigned to a project to enhance an existing web site. We maintain several within EIT. The intern would be expected to work with the client to develop detail requirements before beginning a coding and testing. If time permits, the intern would complete the development work and would be involved in final user testing and promotion to production. Coldfusion will be taught as part of this program.
