Boston College Selects Follett

August 1, 2008 (Oak Brook, IL): Follett Higher Education Group announced today that they have been selected to manage the Boston College Bookstore effective August 1, 2008. An advisory committee consisting of administrators, faculty, and students selected Follett as their partner through an intensive evaluation. Follett was identified as the company that had the experience and resources to best serve the Boston College's community. Follett has committed to providing "first-class" service to our students, faculty, and employees with a main focus on increasing the availability of used books to our students and improving the book ordering process for faculty. Follett will also create a new customer friendly bookstore in the new Stokes Commons. The quality of customer service, especially textbook services for faculty and students was our primary evaluation criterion, commented, Peter McKenzie, Financial Vice President and Treasurer for Boston College. Follett will bring to this endeavor not only operational experience and expertise but also a value system consistent with BCs mission as a Jesuit university. Follett also has long term positive relationships with 15 other Jesuit universities where they provide bookstore services. Follett will invite all current bookstore employees to remain with the bookstore and provide additional training and development opportunities specifically designed to enhance their retail and customers skills.
